Weekly Happiness Note August 7th, 2025
How Knowing That Everything Is Temporary Can Change Your Life
"Not everything you feel defines you—and that’s where peace begins."
Happy Thursday,
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by your thoughts or feelings? This week’s Happiness Note is about finding peace not by fixing everything—but by letting it be. When we stop identifying with our emotions and instead observe them, we find space, softness, and perspective. This note is your reminder that you're not your experiences—you’re the one moving through them.
In gratitude, ❤ Emily
This week’s topic and inspiration come from the article: “How Knowing That Everything Is Temporary Can Change Your Life.”
💛 Remember the Good
There’s a lot of joy in remembering that everything in life is temporary. When we stop mistaking who we are for what is happening in our lives, we find more space to be present. Every experience—good or bad—is just passing through. When we remember that, we begin to appreciate what’s good, knowing it’s fleeting, and feel relief knowing the hard won’t last either.
Tip to remember the good:
Look at each life moment as a visitor—notice it, welcome it, and let it pass.
🌿 Feel Your Best
Pay attention to the stories you are telling yourself. Our minds are brilliantly creative, often spinning fiction rooted in fear or doubt. The moment we observe our inner dialogue without attaching to it, we reclaim our peace. You are the storyteller—not the story itself.
Tip to feel your best:
Pause and observe your thoughts today. Ask, “Is this true?” and smile at the answer—even if it’s no.
🔄 Reset as Needed
You are not your thoughts, your feelings, or your reactions—you are the observer of them all. Life flows more freely when you stop becoming the emotion and start recognizing it as something moving through you. Say, “It’s okay to experience this,” and let that acknowledgment guide you back to center.
Tip for a reset:
Next time you say, “I am anxious or sad,” try “I’m experiencing anxiety or sadness.” Watch how that small shift creates space to reset.
