How to Turn the Page and Start Fresh When You Feel Stuck
“Starting fresh doesn’t mean starting over. It means starting from where you are.”
Happy Thursday,
There are moments when pushing forward only leaves us more exhausted. When that happens, it can be a sign that something else is needed — not more effort, but a different way of meeting what’s here. This week’s Happiness Note offers a few grounding practices and a gentle reminder to help you turn the page and begin again from where you are, with a little more steadiness and trust.
This week’s topic and inspiration come from my article: “How to Turn the Page and Start Fresh When You Feel Stuck.”
💛 Remember the Good
Practice: Start With Where You Are (Presence & Gratitude)
When we feel stuck, starting from where we are can feel counterintuitive. After all, the problem is that we feel stuck. But starting from where we are is about presence and gratitude. It’s about shelving the story of our circumstances and instead bringing awareness to what is before us in this moment that is good — even if that’s something very basic.
Listing what we are grateful for creates new energy around what is good about life right now. Turning the page isn’t about ignoring truth. It’s about choosing not to become swallowed by it and remembering that how we participate in our own life journey is our superpower.
Tip for Remembering the Good
Reflection exercise: Pause and name a few things in your immediate surroundings that remind you life is still a gift.
Reflect a Little Deeper:
Notice what shifts when you bring your awareness back to the present moment. Lean into this quiet reflection.
🌿 Feel Your Best
Practice: Self-Reflection & Strengthening Your Relationship With Yourself
Our perception of the outer world reflects our inner world. When we regularly check in with ourselves, we become familiar with our inner landscape and better equipped to move through challenges when they arise. Too often, we look outside ourselves for answers before venturing inward.
Self-reflection builds trust, consistency, and connection with your truth. Whether through journaling, meditation, time in nature, or daily check-ins, this practice helps you stay aligned with what feels best for you and supports your ability to move forward even when life feels uncertain.
Tip to Feel Your Best
Reflection exercise: Ask yourself, “What is my inner world asking for right now?”
Reflect a Little Deeper:
Consider how often you pause to check in with yourself and how you could make this a more regular habit.
🔄 Reset as Needed
Practice: Choice, Perspective & Empowerment
Our perspective creates our experience of life. Training your mind to turn on a dime means learning to adjust and shift so you stay on your highest path — one that includes happiness and well-being. When we witness our ability to shift perspective, we build self-faith and become less stuck in difficult moments.
Asking the right questions creates space to course-correct and move closer to how we want to feel. While we may not choose the storms we face, we do have a say in how we weather them.
Tip for a Reset
Reflection exercise: Gently ask yourself, “What do I want to feel, and what is one step that moves me closer to that?”
Reflect a Little Deeper:
Notice how answering these questions influences your day.
