Weekly Happiness Note January 9, 2025
How Knowing That Everything Is Temporary Can Change Your Life
“There is peace and acceptance in remembering that everything in life is temporary.”
Happy Thursday,
I hope this week’s note finds you well. If you feel like your current challenges are overwhelming or you are carrying more than you ought to, see what shifts by saying aloud, “This too shall pass.” Sure, it likely won’t erase the challenge, but it can ease the added cognitive load of feeling like there is no end in sight. Read below for this week’s inspiration and tips to remember the good, feel your best, and reset as needed.
This week’s topic and inspiration come from the article “How Knowing That Everything Is Temporary Can Change Your Life.”

Remember the Good
Life’s fleeting nature is a gift. Even in challenging moments, remembering that everything is temporary can ease the weight we carry.
Tip for remembering the good: Pause and notice the stories you’re telling yourself today—are they rooted in worry, or could they be reframed to honor the beauty of the present? When we embrace life’s ebb and flow with curiosity, we uncover joy in even the smallest moments. Let this awareness bring peace and a renewed appreciation for all that’s good right now.
Feel Your Best
You are not your thoughts or feelings—you are so much more. Give yourself permission to feel without attaching your worth to any one emotion or experience.
Tip to feel your best: If frustration or anxiety arises, remind yourself: “It’s okay to experience this—it’s just passing through.” Observing your inner dialogue creates space to breathe, reset, and move forward with clarity. Feelings come and go, but the essence of who you are remains limitless and resilient.
Reset As Needed
Laugh at your stories, marvel at your creativity, and let go of what no longer serves you. Every moment is an invitation to begin again and move forward, knowing that brighter days and new experiences are always on the horizon.
Tip for a reset: When life feels overwhelming, shift the narrative. Instead of saying, “I am stressed,” try, “I’m experiencing stress right now—it will pass.” This subtle change empowers you to reset and embrace life’s natural rhythm.
