“It begins when we start from where we are.”
Happy Thursday,
In a world that’s always racing toward what’s next, this week’s Happiness Note is your invitation to pause. Instead of spiraling in uncertainty or trying to figure it all out, what if you gave yourself permission to simply begin right here? This note is full of simple ways to reconnect, reset, and breathe easier—no big fix needed. Just one moment, one step, one breath at a time.
In gratitude, ❤ Emily
This week’s topic and inspiration come from the article: “The Value in Starting from Where You Are.”
💛 Remember the Good
When the question “Will this uncertainty ever end?” circles your mind, it helps to take stock of all that is good and certain in this moment. A sunrise, birdsong, a phone call with a friend—these simple gifts remind us that even in uncertainty, joy lives here.
Tip to remember the good:
Name three things you can see, three you can hear, and three you can touch. Let your senses anchor you to now.
🌿 Feel Your Best
When you’re rushing, anxious, or overwhelmed, the invitation is to slow down and notice what’s really going on inside. Breathe deeply. Allow yourself to feel, without judgment. You are not your feelings. You are so much more.
Tip to feel your best:
Instead of avoiding a tough emotion, sit with it. Ask: “What might this feeling be trying to teach me?”
🔄 Reset as Needed
Resetting doesn’t require a grand gesture. It could be a breath, a laugh, or the decision to turn around and try another path. When life feels out of control, one of the kindest things you can do is give yourself permission to be human.
Tip for a reset:
If you feel like the world is on your shoulders, ask yourself: “Who made me ruler of the world?” That question can serve as a good reality check and bring relief that you don’t have to carry everything on your shoulders. Give yourself a hug and start from there.
